St. Bernard Lodge

Unique Historic Lodging - Lassen Park

St. Bernard Lodge is the perfect home base for outdoor enthusiasts of all stripes. No matter what season you visit, an adventure is waiting here for you. The region is filled with endless opportunities for hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, camping, fishing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, wildlife viewing, and so much more. We are just over a mile from the world-renowned Pacific Crest Trail, 20 minutes from the SW entrance of Lassen Volcanic Park, 15 minutes from Lake Almanor, and one hour from Drakesbad, Juniper Lake, and Cinder Cone. We are also the perfect place to stop over on your journey from Crater Lake or the Redwoods National Forest.

When you are not off exploring the wonders of the Northern California wilderness, there is much fun to be had inside St. Bernard Lodge. Kids will have a blast playing our puzzles, checkers, backgammon, chess, and ping-pong maze. We offer the adults a custom-made Olhausen pool table and dart board. The lounge area is a great place to visit with other guests or catch up with your favorite book.

St. Bernard Lodge is full of history both on the lodge, Lassen National Park, and Lake Almanor.  Plenty of literature is available on the sites to see locally, and other fun stops if you are on a road trip.

The lodge sits on just under 10 acres.  You can choose to sit on the patio and enjoy a glass of wine or your favorite drink.  Take time to relax and visit with family and friends after a full day of hiking or biking.  Stroll the grounds and watch for wildlife.  Wild Turkeys, Eagles, Osprey, Blue Herons, and many other birds can be spotted from the patio.  Depending on the season, deer and river otters can be seen.

In addition, we will happily host your business retreats, wedding receptions, and barbecues, as well as private business or family parties

Our Tavern

Like the rest of our bed and breakfast lodge and restaurant, stepping into our tavern will give you the sensation of being in an old, turn-of-the-century European tavern. At our tavern, everyone is your friend. Your experience will be warm, friendly, and familiar, yet different.

If you close your eyes and let your imagination wander, you might hear faint laughter and fascinating stories being told. No, the place is not haunted but has a colorful history, built in the 1920s. Many wild tales and jokes have been shared across the bar. Lots of good times and memories permeate the walls. If they could only talk, they would keep you here for days and weeks.

Share your stories of visiting the lodge in the early days. Not sure anyone can tell a better story than the gentleman who rode his horse through the tavern in the early 1940s.

While relaxing in the tavern, many guests challenge each other to a game of pool on our custom-made Olhausen pool table.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or just a snack, can be served to you in the tavern. We have a full bar stocked with your favorite liquors and, of course, your favorite beers. We also offer a fine selection of wines.

There is a television to watch “the game” if you desire, or play a game of pool on our new Olhausen pool table, darts, cribbage, and many other games at hand. You are welcome to use and enjoy many other creature comforts. You will feel right at home here and have difficulty wanting to leave, so allow for an extra hour or two!

At St. Bernard Lodge, you are amongst friends.
