Where to Find the Best Northern California Fall Colors
While Northern California may not be necessarily known for autumnal hues in the mainstream, for those who have seen the striking color change in Plumas County, we know that there are some beautiful California fall colors here, too! Late September and early October are actually considered some of the best times to plan a scenic drive through the lush forests and mountain ranges of Northern CA. The heat of summer will be in the rearview, and the fiery hues pepper the Evergreen landscape.
Lassen Volcanic National Park is always one of the most popular destinations for guests staying at St. Bernard Lodge. The California fall colors come to life at Lassen, and while the contrast is subtle, the golden tones create a magical backdrop for hikes and exploring. (While we’ve been experiencing some wildfires in the area, it’s always a good idea to check the status of park openings and closures.)
