Nominations for Coolest Small Town 2013

Nominations for Coolest Small Town 2013

October 11, 2012 by: Sharon Roberts

For the seventh year running Budget Travel is looking for ten standout communities across the country. Please vote for Quincy, California as one of these ten standout communities.

To qualify for the coolest small town contest the town must have a population under 10,000. Budget Travel is looking for a small town with an edge and a heart. Quincy is under 10,000 residents and it definitely has a heart and an edge.

Please consider voting for Quincy, California. Quincy is in the heart of Plumas County. It has a great downtown with a wide variety of shops, restaurants and a few bars. It reminds me of downtown Mayberry. It is fun to stroll the downtown and shop without having any feel of a tourist trap, which many small towns now have. Downtown merchants work together in many ways helping each other and going the extra mile for their guests and customers. They decorate downtown with beautiful hanging flower baskets in the summer, host a girls night out in Sept. Host the county fair ( one of the best for a small town) and many other events during the year for the benefit of local residents and guests to the area.

In Quincy as a tourist you are treated like a treasured guest by the local lodging providers and merchants. Each business owner strives to help you have a great time while visiting the area. Each business owner loves the area for different reasons and they want you to love the area and your visit.

Just outside of Quincy you have millions of acres to enjoy the great outdoors. Hundreds of lakes and waterfalls to discover. Some of the more notable are: Plumas Eureka State Park, Plumas County Museum, Bucks Lake, Lake Almanor, Butte Lake, Indian Valley, and Lassen Volcanic National Park.

If you want more information on the area in general please check-outwww.plumascounty.org or more information on St. Bernard Lodge website.

Once again please take a minute to help Quincy, California become one of the 10 finalists for Budget Travel’s Coolest Small Towns of 2013.  If traveling North from Quincy to Lassen Volcanic National Park call ahead and plan on stopping in at the St. Bernard Lodge for a meal, drink or even spend the night with us.
