This ride is located where the scenic Southern Cascades bump into the gentle Northern Sierras, the Mile High 100 will treat you to a quiet day on the back roads that wander through the lush green forests surrounding Lake Almanor and the Indian Valley. You will get several great views of Lassen Volcanic National Park,Lake Almanor and the meadows of Indian Valley on this ride. This is not a race, but a collection of tours for cyclists of all abilities.

This Century bike ride promotes recreational bicycling “under the volcano” in the shadow of Northern California’s incredible Lassen Peak. Proceeds from this event are invested in organized recreation in theLake Almanor Basin and provide support for the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce.

Pick the Perfect Ride:

CENTURY RIDE (108 MILES) – This is a relatively easy ride by century standards. It takes you around Lake Almanor and through the peaceful Indian Valley. Approximately 3,200′ total elevation climb.

METRIC CENTURY: This ride encompasses the entire Almanor Basin. It is recommended for the cyclist who desire a challenging loop without the distance and the bigger climbs found in the full century ride. Approximately 1,500′ total elevation climb.

HALF METRIC CENTURY (33 MILES) – Take your time and enjoy the mountain vistas and the clean air. This is the ride for those wanting a nice leisurely ride lakeside aroundLake Almanor, the blue jewel on the North Fork of the Feather River. Approximately 600′ total elevation climb.

FOOD: Yes, and lots of it and even better than before! We will have high quality natural food and beverages to satisfy the heartiest of appetites. We will be supplying you with ample nourishment and encouragement along the route. Century riders are rewarded with a delicious lunch in Taylorsville. (Catering thanks to Carol’s Cafe,Prattville,CA)

CLOTHING: Unpredictable Mountain weather! Summer temperatures can range from 28 to 98 degrees, you can expect afternoon thunderstorms- so be prepared! The Mile High 100 will take place rain, shine, or volcanic eruption.

HELMETS: Are most definitely required. Safety is a key goal of the Mile High 100.

RULES OF THE ROAD: Please obey all rules of the road! We insist that you obey all stop signs and give appropriate hand signals when turning. Ride as far to the right as is practicable and watch for oncoming cars and trucks. “Sag Vehicle” volunteers will be monitoring the ride. They will assist if someone needs a lift, minor bike repairs or water. Route will be clearly marked with road signs.

END-OF-RIDE FEAST: Enjoy a delicious post-ride meal served from noon to 5:00 p.m., free to all registered riders. Meal tickets for family or friends are available for $7.00 each. Relax by the Feather River at theChesterPark and enjoy live musical entertainment (band to be determined), delicious food, and even a massage! Don’t miss this full afternoon of entertainment!

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT: We will have delicious cold beer on draft (Michelob Ultra, Bud Light, Lost Coast Tangerine, Bear Racer Republic!), great music by the Jeff Pershing Band, tasty spaghetti meal by the Lake Almanor Elks Lodge, a bike drawing for a 2011 Raleigh Misceo 2.0 from Bodfish Bicycles, great raffle prizes (gift certificate from Dawn Lee, 2 night stay at McCarthy Point from the Forest Service, Elderberry Wine from Honey Run Winery, La Rocca Vineyards tour/tasting gift certificate, original photography by Betty Bishop and more!)

Lodging: Last minute lodging available at St. Bernard Lodge. Special arrangements can be made for guests participating in the bike ride for early breakfast.

If you can not make this ride remember that this same ride is now being held in the fall. Save Sept. 29th on your calendar for the fall bike ride.

CHECK-IN AND START TIME: Riders may check-in on Friday, June 15th between 6:00-9:00 p.m. or on Saturday, June 16th between 6:00-9:00 a.m. at the Chester Park. Free water bottle for the first 500 riders!
