Plumas Ski Ckub Longboard Races

Sunday, February 19th and Sunday March 19th, 2017 Come enjoy this special day of fun March 18, 2012 at the Plumas Eureka Ski Bowl.Registration starts at 10 am, drawing of numbers is at 11:45 am

Event goes from 11 am – 3pm. It is a day of family fun come experience the “good old days” Racers are decked out in period clothing and using authentic longboard skis and leather boots.

The sport of downhill ski racing began in 1861 in Onion Valley, between Quincy and LaPorte. Come see if you can beat the 1st speed skier record set in 1867 of eighty-eight miles per hour. This record was set by Cornish Bob on twelve foot long wooden skis using the magic “dope” concoction made by Bill Church. For more information call 530-832-4309.
