The Mount Lassen Chapter California Native Plant Society will be hiking to Bumpass Hell in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Bumpass Hell is the largest geo-thermal area west of Yellowstone. Bumpass Hell has mudpots, steaming furaroles and late-season flowers.
A car shuttle might be arranges to allow a 4 mile downhill walk to Bumpass Hell, Cold Boiling Lake and ending at the KIngs Creek Picinic Area.
Meet at 8:30 am at the Chico Park and Ride lot, at Highway 99 and 32. Bring lunch, water and hiking gear. Money for ride-sharing. Call Marjorie at 530-343-2397 for alternate meeting site and or additional information,

Hike the Deer Creek Trail with the Mount Lassen Chapter California Native Plant Society. It starts 38 miles from Chico at the Deer Creek Bridge on Highway 32. The 1.5-mile gradual hike starts at a 3,200-foot elevation and the lunch stop will be at the newly renovated fish ladder. Observe some trees in fall colors and other native plants. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Chico Park and Ride lot, Highways 99 and 32, with lunch, water, sturdy shoes, hiking gear and money for ride-sharing. Moderate 6-mile hike in the Lassen National Forest with the Sierra Club Yahi Group. Sunflower Flat to Green Island and Saucer lakes through an old mixed conifer forest.
