Fun things to do in area

May 6, 2011 by: Sharon Roberts

Friday, May 6th, 2011Black Mountain Lookout in the Plumas National Forest is announcing the Grand Opening of the Black Mountain Lookout recreation rental on May 26th, 2011. The lookout is situated in the eastern edge of the Beckwourth Ranger District, 10 miles from Hey. 395 near Milford, Ca. The lookout offers striking views of Honey Lake to the north and Last Chance Creek to the south. This would be a great year to see Honey Lake, it rarely is any fuller. Many years you can drive by and see only a dry lake bed. The fee is sixty dollars per night, accommodating us to eight visitors. For further information call Beckwourth Ranger District at 530-836-2575. Be part of history. A nice way out it to drive over hill to Antelope Lake, then down to Taylorsville and then come see us at the St. Bernard Lodge. Even if you don’t want to spend the night we can fix you a great lunch or dinner, just call ahead and let us know you are coming. 0
